My blog will be about art crimes, in both the traditional and non-traditional sense. I will chronicle thefts, looting and fraudulent art at museums, private collections and archaeological sites. I will track the history, concerns and prevention within this $6 billion a year criminal enterprise. I will also focus on art crime in the form of graffiti art, also known as tagging, public art and street art. I will look into news stories on the controversial debate between graffiti as public art or a public nuisance. I will also post photos of street art that I find in and around Chicago.
